Today I’m joined by my friend Sarah Geving. Sarah is a human trafficking survivor and victim advocate. In this conversation, Sarah describes her experience growing up in San Diego, and her five years of hell in the life. She covers the topic of familial trafficking, and the sadistic acts of her father and his criminal partner.
Sarah discusses how she and her sister were born into the life, and that the torture began before the rape. Sarah describes how as she got older, she started to speak out. About not just getting survivors out of human trafficking, but also getting them resources needed to heal.
Sarah explains how her abuse extended into spiritual abuse. How she builds her relationship with God, and why we should pray that survivors find faith. Sarah details how she escaped by joining her mom’s Catholic Church. And how despite physical freedom, the power of trauma/DNA bonding left her in grief over her father.
New, we discuss her father’s “death box”, his final act of depravity to traumatize Sarah from beyond the grave. Sarah describes her healing journey, including how she first once coped by numbing.
Sarah explains her re-exploitation in 2019 by a fraudulent nonprofit organization. A wolf in trauma counselor clothing, who violated her HIPAA rights and forced the FBI on her. We discuss the sophistication and depth of organized trafficking, including corrupt government agencies and NGOs.
Sarah describes her efforts to pass legislation in Colorado to protect HIPAA rights of survivors, and the importance of local action. We discuss the need to elect good District Attorneys, et.al., who uphold the law. Rather than those who succumb to compromise and corruption. We also discuss the need for antitrafficking oversight, and that “evil happens in the dark”.
Next, we consider the 2024 presidential election. We discuss why Sarah to switched support from Donald Trump to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., with due credit to President Trump’s human trafficking successes. We highlight the importance of ending regulatory capture and of ensuring free and fair elections. We end on healing the divide between Republicans and Democrats, and coming together as one people.
